TNL LIVE 2023 Operating ModelPrior to a ball being kicked, all fixtures for the 2023 season will operate as follows:
Monday: The host confirms the playing squad for the upcoming Thursday fixture.Members now have an extra day to make short notice absences known and in turn, give other TNL Live members an additional 24 hours notice of any spare places.
Tuesday:All members who are playing the Thursday fixture must make their match payment on the Tuesday by 18:00 at the latest.If a player in the confirmed playing squad has not paid for their place by this time, a place becomes available to other TNL Live members.All payments will be communicated in the TNL Live WhatsApp group and recorded on the spreadsheet (link available soon).
The only exceptions where member payments will be made after the Tuesday, is in the event of an unforeseen/last minute line up change outside of the above window. The above operating model is in place to help reduce full scale game cancellations on the day - it's better for TNL Live to know we only have 7 on the Monday instead of the Tuesday - this gives us a further 24 hours to try and rescue the game.
In the event of insufficient payments or zero payments being received by 18:00 on the Tuesday, TNL Live will invoke Operation Iceberg.

Operation IcebergIf the TNL Live host/event organiser senses that serious danger may be ahead, a determination may be made to invoke what is known as Operation Iceberg.
In this instance, think of TNL Live as a ship.
Operation Iceberg can be invoked in preparation for hitting an iceberg (serious risk of a game being cancelled).
Operation Iceberg is invoked in the hope that with a strong rescue mission (members rallying together), the ships course can be changed to avoid hitting the iceberg - a successful rescue mission will be declared if the fixture that was deemed at risk is now looking likely to be going ahead.
After an Operation Iceberg has been invoked, priority for the following fixture will only be given to those members that had made a payment. If zero payments were received and an Operation Iceberg was declared, essentially, there is no priority to carry over to the following fixture.
If three Operation Icebergs are invoked in quick succession (E.g., 3 invokes in a 6 week period), TNL Live reserves the right to cancel all remaining fixtures and cease operation.
